Our Week In Review

What a busy, fantastic week we had! On Monday, the kids started their paper mache globes and were up to their ears in gooey fun! My little guy had a great time with Tubtime Tuesday. This week's tubtime activity involved colored pasta, hidden magnetic letters, and sorting tools. He really liked this tub because he received a little prize for finding all the letters. On Thursday, my daughter did a flip on the bars at gymnastics class! We also took a trip to the aquarium for their annual Homeschool Day. My girls started co-op classes at our church on Friday. The end of the week brought lots of rain, which my little guy was more than happy to play in! I'd say it was another successful week...

Wow! What a Week...

Well, we've completed our first week of homeschooling and I am really encouraged by how smoothly things went. There are a few things I do need to adjust, but overall, everything is moving along quite well and it was a week full of all kinds of lessons, new discoveries, and lots of learning. Here are some of our activities:
Thursday was National Skyscraper Day. Look at this great building!
Tub Time Tuesday was a big hit
Puzzle time fun during Galloping the Globe lessons
Coming soon- lots of field trips, science experiments, and more!

If You're Having Fun, You Must Not Be Learning

Whew!!! I thought we would start the school year off slowly and then really get into things after we had a nice routine going. Was I wrong! Today was a day filled with all sorts of hands-on fun! My little guy did his Starfall Kindergarten activities and was so happy to have a new friend- Backpack Bear join him. He then stayed busy the rest of the day playing with play-doh, "writing" a song, reading Brown Bear Brown Bear What Do You See? and doing some sorting and graphing with M & M's. He played with ABC letter match-ups and magnetic pompom number practice sheets from Confessions of a Homeschooler (thank you!). He did some artwork on our easel and joined his sisters during Bible study time. We are focusing on the Fruit of the Spirit this year. He also had a ton of fun participating in Tub Time Tuesday. Today's tubtime activity was with colored water, lots of sparkly sequins, and several different tools and utensils. So, I guess it's safe to say that homeschooling is in full swing around here! Who knew learning could be this much fun...
